Launched in 2024, The Wheel Deal is a New Zealand-owned salary sacrifice platform that allows employees to purchase e-bikes, regular bikes, and scooters through their employer - without paying Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT).
It’s a program “driven by the industry, for the industry,” founded by passionate bike retailers who wanted to keep the process simple, ethical, and locally focused. Unlike leasing models, The Wheel Deal ensures you own your bike from day one.
“We wanted to create a platform where the employee took ownership of their bikes on day one so that there was no risk to the employer,” says the team behind The Wheel Deal.
